The Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions MAA3-0920-C7B-GA includes the rugged R920 LTE WiFi router with three-year NetCloud Mobile Essentials and Advanced Plans. It provides centrally managed Cat 7 LTE, WiFi 6, GNSS/GPS, advanced network security and mobile analytics for connected vehicles, field teams and mobile IoT systems. Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions was formerly known as Cradlepoint.

Cat 7 LTE Connectivity for Connected Vehicle Deployments

The embedded R920-C7B modem supports theoretical LTE speeds up to 300Mbps downstream and 150Mbps upstream. Dual nano-SIM slots and 2x2 MIMO provide carrier flexibility and reliable cellular performance across supported networks.

The IP64-rated metal enclosure is designed for demanding vehicle and IoT environments. A 9–36V DC input, ignition sensing and delayed shutdown support permanent vehicle integration, while resistance to shock, vibration and temperature extremes improves reliability in the field.

Dual-Band WiFi 6 and Switchable Gigabit Ethernet

Concurrent 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi 6 provides efficient connectivity for personnel, passengers and operational equipment. Supported operating modes include access point, wireless client and WiFi as WAN.

Two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces can operate as LAN or WAN ports, accommodating wired endpoints or an additional WAN connection.

Three-Year NetCloud Mobile Essentials Plan

NetCloud Mobile Essentials provides centralised administration of the R920 throughout the three-year subscription term. Administrators can apply consistent policies across multiple routers and remotely diagnose connectivity issues without visiting every vehicle.

Combining Essentials and Advanced gives IT teams both the management tools needed to operate a distributed fleet and the enhanced protection and analytics required for more security-sensitive mobile deployments.

R920 Antenna Connections and Installation Options

The R920 has two SMA female cellular connections for 2x2 MIMO LTE, two RP-SMA WiFi connections, one SMA connection for active GNSS/GPS and one RP-SMA connection for Bluetooth Low Energy.

Compatible direct-attach paddle antennas can be fitted. For vehicle installations, remote or cabled combination antennas are generally preferred because they allow the cellular, WiFi and GNSS elements to be mounted externally for improved signal reception.

Antennas and an AC power supply are not included with the MAA3 Mobile package.

Expandable LTE and 5G Architecture

The optional RX20-MC Managed Accessory allows a compatible second LTE or 5G modem to be added. This can provide multi-carrier resilience, dual-modem failover or a migration path to higher-performance 5G connectivity.
