The Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions MA01-0920-C7B-GA combines the rugged R920 mobile router with a one-year NetCloud Mobile Essentials Plan. Designed for connected vehicles, mobile workforces and demanding IoT applications, the R920 delivers Cat 7 LTE, concurrent dual-band WiFi 6, dual Gigabit Ethernet and integrated GNSS/GPS in a compact IP64-rated enclosure. Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions was formerly known as Cradlepoint.

Rugged Cat 7 LTE Router for Vehicles and Mobile IoT

The R920-C7B features an embedded global Cat 7 LTE modem supporting theoretical download speeds of up to 300Mbps and upload speeds of up to 150Mbps. Its 2x2 MIMO cellular design and dual 4FF nano-SIM slots provide flexible connectivity across supported mobile networks.

A rugged metal enclosure, 9–36V DC input, ignition sensing and resistance to vibration, shock and temperature extremes make the R920 suitable for service vehicles, public transport, emergency response, field operations, mobile offices and protected IoT installations.

Dual-Band WiFi 6 and Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity

Concurrent dual-radio WiFi 6 provides wireless connectivity across the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The R920 supports 2x2 MU-MIMO, WPA3 security and operation as an access point, wireless client or WiFi-as-WAN connection.

Two switchable Gigabit Ethernet LAN/WAN ports accommodate wired devices or an additional WAN service. These interfaces can connect vehicle computers, cameras, payment terminals, IoT controllers and other Ethernet equipment while retaining flexible WAN options.

One-Year NetCloud Mobile Essentials Plan

The included one-year Ericsson NetCloud Mobile Essentials Plan activates the R920’s applicable cloud-management, routing and security capabilities throughout the subscription term.

NetCloud Manager allows administrators to deploy, configure, monitor and troubleshoot the router remotely. This is particularly valuable for vehicles and distributed installations where sending a technician to each location would be costly or disruptive.

NetCloud Mobile Essentials provides:

• Zero-touch router deployment
• Group-based configurations and policies
• Remote monitoring, diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Router and modem software updates
• Stateful zone-based firewall functionality
• VPN configuration and management
• Visibility into router, WAN and connected-client health

An optional NetCloud Mobile Advanced Plan can be added when additional capabilities such as threat management, web filtering, application visibility, enhanced analytics and advanced GNSS/GPS functionality are required.

External Cellular, WiFi and GNSS Antenna Connections

The R920 provides separate external antenna connections for cellular, WiFi, GNSS/GPS and Bluetooth connectivity:

• 2 x SMA female cellular connectors for a 2x2 MIMO LTE antenna system
• 2 x RP-SMA connectors for dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi
• 1 x SMA connector for an active GNSS/GPS antenna
• 1 x RP-SMA connector for Bluetooth Low Energy

Compatible direct-attach paddle antennas can be used with the R920. However, for mobile and in-vehicle installations, Ericsson recommends remote or cabled multi-element antennas for optimum performance. These allow the antenna to be mounted externally, such as on a vehicle roof, where it can achieve clearer access to cellular, WiFi and GNSS signals.

Antennas are not included with this NetCloud Mobile package and must be selected separately to suit the installation.

Expandable LTE and 5G Mobile Router Platform

The R920 supports the optional RX20-MC Managed Accessory, allowing a compatible second LTE or 5G modem to be added. This can provide multi-carrier resilience, dual-modem failover or a migration path to higher-performance 5G connectivity without replacing the original router.

USB, GPIO, Bluetooth Low Energy and container-based edge-computing support provide additional integration options for specialised vehicle and IoT applications.
