The compact 2U rackmount TS-873AeU-RP combines an AMD Ryzen™ V1000 series V1500B quad-core/eight-thread 2.2 GHz processor and dual-2.5GbE connectivity in one chassis. Compared to its previous generation, the TS-873AeU-RP is enhanced with two M.2 PCIe Gen3 x 1 ports for NVMe SSD cache acceleration or Edge TPU empowered AI image recognition. Cutting-edge hardware integrated with comprehensive software solutions makes the TS-873AeU-RP the preeminent choice to tackle resource-demanding applications and tasks, such as virtual machines or intensive multi-user access. The space-efficient short depth design of only 11.7 inches (297.4 mm) makes it easy to install in small media cabinets or places with a lot of cabling. The TS-873AeU-RP also features two redundant power supplies to ensure maximum system uptime.

Dual-2.5GbE connectivity
Features two 2.5GbE ports. Up to 5 Gbps transfer speeds can be achieved by using port trunking.

Features one PCIe Gen3 x 8 port. Add extra functionality with PCIe cards, including 10/25GbE ports, QM2, or Fibre Channel.

2U Short depth design
The rackmount NAS has a short-depth design of only 30 cm. It is perfectly suited for installation in a compact rack, or places with a lot of cabling.

2U Short depth design for up to 38% reduction in size
The 2U rackmount TS-873AeU-RP has a short depth design of only 11.7 inches (297.4 mm), making it an excellent choice for smaller racks, wall-mount AV rack cabinets, and network rack cabinets. The space saved by the short depth design can be reserved for cabling or ventilation. The TS-873AeU-RP is space-saving for flexible deployment and is especially suitable for multiple locations and applications including offices, audiovisual rooms, and security surveillance recording.

Note: Users can purchase the optional RAIL-S01 short rail kit to deploy the TS-873AeU-RP in a 19-inch rack following the ANSI/EIA-RS-310-D standard.

The 8-bay TS-873AeU-RP is equipped with two M.2 PCIe Gen3 x 1 slots, enabling cache acceleration or SSD storage pools for improved performance, or Edge TPU for AI image recognition.

NVMe 2 SSDs for cache acceleration or efficient tiered storage
The TS-873AeU-RP supports SSD caching and features two M.2 slots that support M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs with 2280 form factors (sold separately) for boosting overall NAS performance. Qtier™ technology can also be used to empower the TS-873AeU-RP with auto tiering that helps continuously optimize storage efficiency across all installed storage devices.

Accelerate AI–powered image recognition with TPU
By leveraging a Google Edge TPU to QNAP AI Core (the AI-powered engine for image recognition), the TS-873AeU-RP can perform high-speed face and object recognition. Google Edge TPU enables QuMagie to quickly process thousands of photos with high-speed AI Image recognition and classification, and QVR Face to analyze real-time video for instant facial recognition.
