SSD, memory and current supply conditions
Reseller update: SSD, memory and current supply conditions
We wanted to share a quick update on current supply and pricing conditions across the technology market, particularly SSDs and memory (RAM), as this is having a direct impact on availability and pricing consistency.
We continue to see global supply constraints across most major brands, with demand exceeding supply. Stock is arriving in limited volumes and, in many cases, is selling through quickly once it lands.
Pricing remains volatile and subject to change without notice. Importantly, we are also seeing supplier backorders being repriced prior to shipment, meaning pricing confirmed at the time of order may change before goods ship to us.
Important note for quoting end customers:
Given the current volatility, we strongly recommend that reseller quotes clearly state that pricing and availability are subject to change until goods are shipped. Please avoid committing to fixed pricing or extended validity periods on SSDs, RAM, or related products, as cost increases may be applied by suppliers before backordered items are released.
Networking appliance market is facing significant pricing and availability challenges
Similar cost pressures are affecting multiple technology categories, driven by component shortages, increased manufacturing costs, and ongoing global supply chain disruption.
Given these conditions, we’re unable to provide certainty beyond pricing and availability shown at the time of ordering. Where stock is available, we recommend placing orders as early as possible, particularly for customer commitments, as future availability and pricing cannot be guaranteed.
As always, if you’d like to talk through options, alternatives, or ways to manage customer expectations, please get in touch — we’re happy to help.
