Ubiquiti UNVR-G2-Pro UniFi Network Video Recorder G2 Pro

The Ubiquiti UNVR-G2-Pro is a 2U rackmount UniFi Protect network video recorder with eight drive bays, integrated AI event analytics and HDMI output. Supporting up to 50 4K cameras, it provides a central recording and monitoring platform for commercial premises, warehouses, schools and larger surveillance installations.

Eight Drive Bays for Scalable Surveillance Storage

Eight bays accommodate 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch HDDs and SSDs, giving installers flexibility to configure storage around camera numbers and retention requirements. RAID support provides drive-level data protection.

Size storage around recording resolution, bitrate, recording schedules and required retention time. RAID reduces usable capacity and does not replace a separate backup of important footage.

Integrated Edge AI Event Analytics

Built-in AI event analytics bring additional event-processing capability directly into the recorder. This makes the UNVR-G2-Pro a useful foundation for installations where reviewing and investigating surveillance events is an important part of daily operations.

Available detection and analytics features depend on the connected cameras and UniFi Protect software. Select cameras around the specific identification and monitoring requirements of the site.

HDMI Camera Monitoring Without a Separate Viewport

The integrated HDMI output connects directly to a display for local camera monitoring, with support for up to 16 simultaneous 4K camera streams.

For a reception desk, security office or warehouse monitoring station, this can remove the need for a separate Viewport appliance at the recorder location.

10G SFP+ and 2.5GbE Network Connectivity

A 10G SFP+ connection provides an uplink option for surveillance networks carrying traffic from multiple cameras. The 2.5GbE RJ45 interface offers a copper Ethernet connection where this better suits the existing infrastructure.

Plan camera switching, network uplinks and recording capacity together. Camera capacity figures are maximums, rather than a guarantee for every combination of recording settings and application workloads.

UniFi Protect, Access and Connect Support

The UNVR-G2-Pro supports UniFi Protect, UniFi Access and UniFi Connect, allowing it to serve as a platform for video surveillance and compatible physical-security applications.

Door-access support extends its role beyond camera recording. This is useful when designing premises that need both surveillance and controlled entry within the UniFi ecosystem.

Optional Redundant Power for Important Installations

The dedicated USP-RPS input supports an optional Ubiquiti redundant power system. Consider this companion product where protection against an internal recorder power-supply failure is important.

A UPS should also be considered for the recorder and associated network equipment to maintain operation during mains interruptions.

UNVR-G2-Pro or UNVR-G2?

Choose the UNVR-G2-Pro when storage expansion and larger camera deployments justify a 2U recorder. It doubles the UNVR-G2’s drive bays from four to eight and increases memory from 8GB to 16GB.

The smaller UNVR-G2 occupies 1U and supports up to 30 4K cameras with its HDMI Viewport disabled, or 20 with Viewport in use.
