Ubiquiti EAV-XG-24-POE UniFi Enterprise Ethernet Switch for professional AV-over-IP networks, 24x 10G PoE+++ ports, 4x 100G QSFP28 ports
Precision PTP timing for demanding professional audio and video networks.
UBIQUITI EAV-XG-24-PoE ENTERPRISE AUDIO/VIDEO 10G SWITCH
The Ubiquiti EAV-XG-24-PoE is a managed Layer 3 switch designed for professional AV-over-IP networks. It combines 24 × 10GbE PoE+++ ports, four 100G QSFP28 uplinks and hardware-assisted precision timing in a 1U rackmount chassis. High-power PoE, serviceable power supplies and advanced media synchronisation make it suitable for demanding broadcast, production and installed AV environments.
24 × 10GbE Ports for AV-over-IP Equipment
Every main RJ45 port supports 10GbE, giving integrators consistent connectivity across compatible encoders, decoders and other media endpoints. Ports also negotiate at lower speeds, accommodating a mixture of Gigabit and multi-gigabit equipment.
Four 100G QSFP28 connections provide uplink capacity for aggregating media traffic between switches. Network design should account for simultaneous streams, multicast distribution and endpoint requirements rather than treating nominal port speeds as guaranteed application throughput.
Precision Timing for Synchronised Audio and Video
The EAV-XG-24-PoE supports PTPv2 with hardware timestamping, a high-precision OCXO clock and grandmaster, boundary and transparent clock roles. Supported timing profiles include SMPTE 2059-2, AES67 and AES-R16.
These capabilities help integrators build networks where media devices need a common timing reference. Ubiquiti documents support for SMPTE ST 2110, SDVoE and AES67 applications; compatibility still depends on matching endpoint, timing and network configurations.
An optional GNSS antenna connects through the SMA input where a satellite timing reference is required. It is purchased separately.
PoE+++ Power Across All 24 Main Ports
Each 10GbE port supplies up to 90W at the switch, allowing compatible high-power endpoints to receive data and power through one Ethernet cable. Available power at the connected device is lower after cable losses.
At 200–240V AC, the total PoE budget is 2,150W in shared mode or 1,050W in redundant mode. Plan the connected load around the selected operating mode; the maximum per-port rating does not mean every port can simultaneously supply 90W.
AV Profiles, Multicast Control and Layer 3 Routing
Pro AV profiles cover platforms including Dante, Q-SYS, NDI, SDVoE, Shure, AES67 and Crestron. IGMP controls help manage multicast delivery, while VLANs and routing provide tools for organising media and control networks.
For integrators, these functions support a structured deployment: define which endpoints share a network, which receivers need particular streams, and where communication between networks is permitted.
Serviceable Hardware and Full-Depth Rack Installation
Two hot-swappable power modules and four hot-swappable fan modules support maintenance in installations where downtime matters. Etherlighting and a front touchscreen assist technicians working at the rack.
Allow for the switch’s 480mm chassis depth, cabling and ventilation. Ubiquiti specifies four-post rack support; two-post installations require suitable centre-mount support or a cantilever shelf.
For compatible equipment in the same rack, Ubiquiti lists 100G direct attach cables as optional accessories. Optical modules provide alternatives for fibre uplinks.
EAV-XG-24-PoE or USW-Pro-XG-24-PoE?
The EAV-XG-24-PoE suits projects requiring 10GbE on all 24 main ports, 100G uplinks, specialised PTP timing and a substantial PoE budget.
The USW-Pro-XG-24-PoE is an alternative where 16 × 10GbE ports, eight × 2.5GbE ports, two 25G uplinks and a 720W PoE budget meet the requirement.
