The QNAP TS-432XeU-4G is a four-bay, short-depth rackmount NAS for businesses that need shared storage and backup in a compact cabinet. It combines a 1U chassis with built-in 10GbE SFP+ and dual 2.5GbE ports, making it a practical fit for small offices, branch sites and network racks where space is limited.

Short-depth rackmount storage for compact cabinets

At approximately 292 mm deep, the TS-432XeU-4G fits installations where a full-depth rackmount NAS would be difficult to accommodate. Its four hot-swappable SATA bays can house 3.5-inch hard drives or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs, giving installers flexibility to prioritise capacity or responsive file access. Drives are selected separately to suit the required storage capacity and RAID configuration.

Built-in 10GbE SFP+ and dual 2.5GbE networking

The dedicated 10GbE SFP+ port provides a high-speed connection for large file transfers, shared project files and backup traffic. Two 2.5GbE RJ45 ports offer additional connectivity without requiring a network expansion card. Where the client and network configuration support it, the 2.5GbE ports can be used with SMB Multichannel or port trunking to increase available bandwidth. Actual transfer speeds depend on the installed drives, RAID configuration and wider network.

Centralised backup, file sharing and snapshots

QNAP’s QTS platform brings shared files, synchronisation and backup jobs together on one appliance. The TS-432XeU supports backups from file servers, Macs and cloud services, while scheduled snapshots provide recovery points if files are accidentally changed or deleted. For a sound recovery plan, snapshots should be paired with a separate backup destination.

Quad-core processing with expandable memory

An Annapurna Labs Alpine quad-core ARM processor and 4 GB of DDR4 memory support everyday NAS workloads, including file services, backup tasks and lightweight containers. The single memory slot supports an upgrade to a maximum of 16 GB when a compatible module is fitted. Application suitability should be checked for the ARM platform before deployment.

USB storage and optional capacity expansion

Four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports can connect external storage for data import or additional backup jobs. For installations that outgrow the internal bays, QNAP identifies the four-bay TR-004U as a compatible, separately purchased expansion enclosure.
