Grandstream GWN7721PE is a 10-port, Layer 2 Lite managed PoE switch designed for multi-gigabit business networks. It combines eight 2.5GbE PoE+ ports, a dedicated 10GbE PoE++ port and a 10Gb SFP+ slot, making it a practical choice for Wi-Fi 7 access points, cameras and other powered devices that need fast connections.

10GbE PoE++ for high-demand access points

Port 9 provides a 10GbE copper connection with up to 90W of IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ power. This lets installers connect a compatible high-performance access point over a single network cable, without a separate PoE injector. The eight 2.5GbE ports each support up to 30W of PoE+, suitable for access points, IP cameras and phones. Plan connected devices against the switch’s 130W total PoE budget; the per-port maximums cannot all be used at once.

Multi-gigabit ports and a 10G SFP+ uplink

The eight 2.5GbE ports provide more bandwidth than standard Gigabit connections for capable endpoints. A separate 10Gb SFP+ slot can connect the switch to a network backbone or another switch, while leaving the 10GbE PoE++ copper port available for a powered device. The SFP+ module or direct-attach cable is selected separately to suit the uplink.

Traffic control and network troubleshooting

VLANs help separate office, guest, voice and camera traffic. QoS and bandwidth controls let administrators prioritise important applications, while IGMP snooping helps manage multicast traffic. For installation and fault finding, the GWN7721PE also supports cable testing, port mirroring, loop detection and STP/RSTP.

PoE Watchdog can restart an unresponsive powered device by cycling power to its port. This can reduce site visits when a connected camera or access point stops responding.

Local, cloud or on-premises management

The switch can be configured through its local web interface, Grandstream’s free GDMS Networking cloud platform or the on-premises GWN Manager platform. These options suit both individual installations and partners managing switches across multiple customer sites.

GWN7721PE versus GWN7721P

Both models provide eight 2.5GbE PoE+ ports. Choose the GWN7721PE when the installation also needs a 10GbE copper port with up to 90W PoE++. The GWN7721P instead provides two 10Gb SFP+ slots and has no 10GbE PoE++ copper port.
