Ericsson Enterprise Wireless TBV3-0400-C6-EA-M S400 router with WiFi and 3 Year NetCloud IoT Essentials & Advanced, Secure Connect SASE
TBV3-0400-C6-EA-M – Ericsson S400 4G LTE IoT Router with Wi-Fi and 3-Year NetCloud Essentials + Advanced
The Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions TBV3-0400-C6-EA-M combines the compact S400 semi-ruggedised IoT router with an embedded 4G LTE Cat 6 modem, Wi-Fi 5, Gigabit Ethernet and three years of NetCloud IoT Essentials + Advanced services. Secure Connect, delivered through Ericsson NetCloud SASE, provides policy-controlled zero-trust connectivity for protecting remote IoT devices and applications. Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions was formerly known as Cradlepoint.
Designed for kiosks, digital signage, surveillance systems, remote monitoring, industrial automation, smart-city infrastructure and other distributed IoT applications, the S400 delivers centrally managed cellular connectivity in a compact IP30 enclosure. Dual SIM support helps organisations deploy across different carriers, while wired, wireless and optional expansion interfaces provide flexibility for connecting a wide range of equipment.
Compact 4G LTE router for secure IoT connectivity
The S400 incorporates an enterprise-grade Cat 6 LTE modem supporting theoretical cellular download speeds of up to 300Mbps, subject to its regional modem configuration, mobile network and service availability. Dual SIM slots enable carrier flexibility and SIM-based failover without requiring a second modem.
A switchable Gigabit Ethernet port can operate as either LAN or WAN and supports IEEE 802.3af PoE input, allowing network connectivity and power to be supplied over a single Ethernet cable. The S400 can alternatively be powered from a suitable 9–33V DC source.
Wi-Fi 5 connectivity for local IoT devices
Integrated 802.11ac Wi-Fi 5 provides 1×1 SISO wireless connectivity on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band. The single radio can be configured to support local wireless clients or used as a Wi-Fi WAN connection, depending on the deployment requirements.
The S400 has one female RP-SMA connector for the external Wi-Fi antenna. Because this model uses a single Wi-Fi radio, it cannot simultaneously operate Wi-Fi WAN and provide a local wireless access point.
External LTE, Wi-Fi and GNSS antenna connections
The S400 provides:
- Two female SMA cellular antenna connectors for 2×2 LTE MIMO
- One female RP-SMA connector for the Wi-Fi antenna
- Passive GNSS capability shared with the second cellular antenna port
The cellular antenna system supports both LTE connectivity and passive L1 GNSS reception. Cellular diversity and GNSS share cellular antenna port 2, and only passive GNSS-compatible antennas should be used. This “-M” package includes the applicable AC power supply and external cellular and Wi-Fi antennas.
NetCloud IoT Essentials cloud management
The included three-year NetCloud IoT Essentials service enables administrators to deploy, configure and manage the S400 remotely through Ericsson NetCloud Manager. It is designed to simplify the operation of IoT routers distributed across many locations.
Relevant capabilities include:
- Centralised cloud management and orchestration
- Zero-touch deployment and group-based configuration
- Device status, alerts, reports and analytics dashboards
- Dynamic routing, traffic steering and quality-of-service controls
- Zone-based firewall functionality
- Remote troubleshooting and diagnostic tools
- NetCloud API, SDK and third-party integration support
- Software and firmware updates throughout the subscription term
Administrators can create configuration policies once and apply them across groups of S400 routers, reducing the time and cost involved in managing large-scale IoT deployments.
NetCloud IoT Advanced visibility and troubleshooting
The included NetCloud IoT Advanced plan extends Essentials with deeper operational intelligence and management capabilities. As they relate to the S400, these additional features include:
- In-band and out-of-band management capabilities
- Enhanced real-time troubleshooting tools
- Cellular-health visibility
- Modem data-usage dashboards
- Location services using the router’s GNSS capability
- Access to the ANA AI virtual assistant, where supported
These tools help administrators investigate connectivity problems remotely, monitor cellular performance and data consumption, and reduce the need to send technicians to distributed IoT sites.
Secure Connect zero-trust security through Ericsson NetCloud SASE
Secure Connect is included as part of the S400 subscription. It provides policy-controlled, zero-trust connectivity between devices connected to the S400 and their authorised applications or resources.
Rather than exposing IoT devices directly to public networks or granting broad network access, Secure Connect can establish encrypted, micro-segmented connections. Administrators define which devices, sites or resources are permitted to communicate, following a deny-by-default and least-privilege security model.
For S400 deployments, Secure Connect can help:
- Hide IoT devices from unauthorised internal and external network discovery
- Restrict each device to specifically approved resources
- Protect traffic across public cellular and internet connections
- Replace or simplify some conventional VPN and private APN architectures
- Centrally apply connectivity policies across multiple IoT locations
Secure Connect is the included NetCloud SASE service associated with this package. Other NetCloud SASE services and premium security capabilities may require separate licensing.
Semi-ruggedised design for distributed IoT installations
The S400 uses a compact, IP30-rated enclosure designed to tolerate vibration and an operating temperature range of -20°C to 60°C. Its form factor suits installation inside cabinets, kiosks, vehicles used for non-mission-critical applications, digital signs and embedded systems.
Optional mounting and expansion accessories allow the router to be adapted for DIN-rail installations and specialised IoT interfaces. Available expansion modules include dual Ethernet, serial and additional GPIO options.
