UBIQUITI UACC-RETROFIT-POE-2WIRE POE OVER 2-WIRE RETROFIT EXTENDER

The Ubiquiti UACC-Retrofit-PoE-2Wire carries network data and PoE over an existing two-wire or coaxial cable run. Supplied as a transmitter and receiver pair, it helps installers add a PoE device where replacing legacy cabling would be difficult.

REUSE EXISTING CABLING FOR POE DEVICES

Connect the transmitter to a PoE++ source and the receiver to a PoE or PoE+ device. The pair uses the existing cable between them to carry data and power, making it useful for retrofit door access and other installations with suitable legacy wiring. Two-wire to BNC adapters are provided for coaxial connections.

CHECK POWER AND SPEED AGAINST THE CABLE RUN

The receiver’s PoE output and available bandwidth depend on cable type and length. Ubiquiti rates a 50 m run at up to 25 W and 85 Mbps using either its specified 24 AWG twisted pair or RG-6 coaxial cable. At 100 m, the stated power falls to 13 W on twisted pair or 20 W on RG-6. Check the intended device’s power requirement against the cable run before installation; this is a 10/100 MbE solution, not a Gigabit link.
