Ericsson Enterprise Wireless TBT3-0400-C6-EA-M S400 router with WiFi and 3 Year NetCloud IoT Essentials
3-yr NetCloud IoT Essentials Plan, Secure Connect SASE and S400 router with WiFi (300 Mbps modem), with AC power supply and antennas, EMEA/APAC
The Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions S400 is a compact, semi-ruggedised 4G LTE router designed to provide secure and reliable connectivity for IoT devices, digital signage, kiosks, surveillance systems, building automation and remote monitoring applications. Formerly known as Cradlepoint, Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions combines the S400’s LTE Cat 6 modem, Ethernet and WiFi 5 connectivity with a 3 Year NetCloud IoT Essentials Plan for centralised cloud management, monitoring and troubleshooting.
Antenna Connectors:
- Cellular/LTE: 2 × female SMA connectors, supporting 2×2 MIMO. An external antenna requires 2 × SMA male plugs.
- Wi-Fi: 1 × female RP-SMA connector, supporting 1×1 SISO Wi-Fi. An external antenna requires 1 × RP-SMA male plug.
- GNSS/GPS: No separate connector. Passive GNSS is multiplexed through the cellular antenna system.
Compact Ericsson S400 4G LTE router for IoT deployments
The S400 provides dependable cellular connectivity in locations where fixed broadband is unavailable, impractical or requires a resilient alternative. Its embedded LTE Category 6 modem supports theoretical download speeds of up to 300Mbps, while dual SIM slots provide flexibility when deploying the router across different mobile networks.
A switchable Gigabit Ethernet LAN/WAN port can connect an IoT device, local network or wired internet service. The integrated WiFi 5 radio supports either 2.4GHz or 5GHz operation, allowing nearby wireless devices to connect without requiring a separate access point.
Semi-ruggedised router for industrial and remote environments
Built for commercial and light-industrial applications, the Ericsson S400 features an IP30-rated enclosure, resistance to vibration and an operating temperature range of -20°C to 60°C. Its compact form factor is well suited to equipment cabinets, kiosks, digital signs, control systems and other space-constrained installations.
The router can be used in applications including:
- SCADA and industrial monitoring
- Digital signage and interactive kiosks
- Security cameras and surveillance equipment
- Smart city and traffic-management systems
- Building automation and environmental controls
- Remote sensors and telemetry
- Temporary or portable IoT installations
- Primary or backup internet connectivity
Centralised management with 3 Year NetCloud IoT Essentials
Order code TBT3-0400-C6-EA-M includes a three-year Ericsson NetCloud IoT Essentials subscription for the S400. NetCloud provides a cloud-based platform for deploying, configuring, monitoring and maintaining the router throughout the subscription term.
Through Ericsson NetCloud Manager, administrators can remotely view connection status, cellular signal health and data usage; apply configuration policies; deploy firmware updates; receive alerts; and troubleshoot connectivity without travelling to the installation site. Zero-touch deployment and bulk configuration capabilities make the solution particularly useful for organisations managing multiple S400 routers across geographically distributed locations.
NetCloud IoT Essentials also provides access to the software and management capabilities required to operate the S400 as a centrally managed Ericsson endpoint. Subscription features can vary by plan and software release, and continued NetCloud management requires an active service plan after the included three-year term.
Secure connectivity for distributed IoT devices
The S400 includes router-based security capabilities such as a stateful and zone-based firewall, network segmentation, secure remote administration and VPN support. It supports up to five VPN tunnels and provides firewall throughput of up to 95Mbps.
NetCloud allows security and configuration policies to be applied consistently across a fleet of routers. Ericsson NetCloud SASE Secure Connect capabilities can also support zero-trust connectivity, helping limit IoT devices to authorised applications and resources instead of exposing them directly to the public internet.
WiFi 5, Ethernet, GNSS and expandable interfaces
Integrated single-radio WiFi 5 operates on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band using 1x1 SISO technology. Passive GNSS support enables location-aware applications when used with a suitable external antenna.
The S400 also provides USB and configurable power/GPIO connectivity. Optional expansion modules can add capabilities such as two Fast Ethernet ports or a serial interface, making the platform adaptable to specialised IoT, automation and legacy-equipment deployments.
