AMD Ryzen 7 Enterprise NAS Performance

The TS-h1677AXU-RP-R7-32G features an AMD Ryzen 7 7000 Series processor with eight cores, 16 threads and burst speeds of up to 5.3GHz. Its modern AMD AM5 platform and Zen 4 architecture provide the processing power required for simultaneous users, virtual machines, containerised applications, data protection workloads and high-speed file transfers.

Built-in AMD Radeon graphics support hardware-accelerated transcoding and can assist with video processing and graphical workloads. The processor also includes AES-NI hardware encryption acceleration to help protect stored data without unnecessarily compromising performance.

32GB DDR5 Memory Expandable to 192GB

This configuration includes 32GB of DDR5 UDIMM memory and provides four memory slots supporting up to 192GB. The increased memory capacity makes the NAS suitable for intensive ZFS storage workloads, virtualisation, large databases and environments requiring numerous concurrent connections.

Optional ECC DDR5 memory is supported for organisations requiring an additional level of protection against memory errors. ECC and non-ECC modules cannot be mixed, and matched modules are required when using a dual-DIMM configuration.

Two built-in M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 5 x2 slots allow compatible NVMe SSDs to be installed without occupying the main SATA drive bays. M.2 SSDs can be used for SSD caching, dedicated high-speed storage pools or ZFS Intent Log applications.

Using NVMe SSDs for the QuTS hero system pool can improve application responsiveness, metadata handling and database performance. The M.2 slots are backwards compatible with supported PCIe Gen 4 and PCIe Gen 3 NVMe SSDs.

Built-In 10GbE and 2.5GbE Networking

The QNAP TS-h1677AXU-RP includes two 10GBASE-T ports and two 2.5GbE RJ45 ports as standard. This provides high-speed network connectivity for virtualisation environments, centralised backups, large-file transfers, collaborative editing and multi-user storage access without requiring an additional network card.

Port trunking can combine compatible network connections for increased bandwidth or connection redundancy. Jumbo frames and Wake-on-LAN are also supported.

ZFS-Based QuTS Hero Data Protection

QuTS hero combines QNAP’s application ecosystem with the 128-bit ZFS file system. End-to-end checksums and self-healing help detect and correct silent data corruption, while inline compression, compaction and data deduplication can reduce storage consumption.

Block-based snapshots provide fast point-in-time protection for shared folders and iSCSI LUNs. Snapshot Replica and real-time SnapSync can replicate data to another compatible QNAP NAS, helping organisations build comprehensive backup and disaster-recovery strategies.

QuTS hero also supports WORM storage, RAID Triple Parity, Triple Mirror, SSD anti-wear levelling and multiple levels of caching for business-critical data.
