The NETGEAR GS724TPP-300AUS is a high-power 26-port Gigabit PoE+ Smart Managed Switch built for networks with demanding Power over Ethernet requirements. It features 24 Gigabit RJ45 PoE+ ports, two dedicated Gigabit SFP uplinks and a substantial 380W PoE budget. All 26 interfaces can operate simultaneously, making the switch suitable for dense deployments of wireless access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones and other powered network devices.

24 PoE+ ports and two dedicated SFP uplinks

The GS724TPP combines 24 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 connections with two dedicated 1000BASE-X SFP slots. The SFP interfaces are not shared with the copper ports, so the switch can support 24 directly connected Ethernet devices and two active fibre uplinks at the same time.

Its 52Gbps non-blocking switching capacity provides full-duplex bandwidth across all 26 Gigabit network interfaces.

High-capacity 380W PoE power budget

Every RJ45 port supports IEEE 802.3af PoE and IEEE 802.3at PoE+, with up to 30W available from an individual port. The 380W total PoE budget provides considerably more power than standard 190W 24-port PoE+ switches, making the GS724TPP particularly well suited to networks containing a large number of higher-powered devices.

Potential applications include Wi-Fi access points, PTZ and fixed IP cameras, VoIP handsets, video intercoms, access-control hardware and other compatible PoE equipment.

Per-port PoE controls let administrators configure power limits, remotely cycle connected equipment and schedule power availability. This can simplify troubleshooting and help automate the operation of attached devices.

Flexible Smart Managed network control

The browser-based management interface provides access to VLAN, security, traffic-management and diagnostic tools without requiring a full enterprise switching platform. Optional NETGEAR Insight remote and cloud management enables supported devices and sites to be monitored from the Insight application or cloud portal.

SNMP, RMON, syslog, port mirroring, cable testing and dual firmware images provide additional options for monitoring and maintaining the network.

VLAN segmentation and traffic prioritisation

The GS724TPP supports IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, voice VLAN, dynamic VLAN assignment and other segmentation tools for separating business data, voice, wireless, guest and surveillance networks.

Advanced Quality of Service can classify and prioritise traffic using port, IEEE 802.1p, DSCP and Layer 2, Layer 3 or Layer 4 information. Link aggregation with LACP allows compatible ports to be combined for additional bandwidth or resilient uplink designs.

Security and multicast optimisation

Network protection features include IEEE 802.1X port authentication, RADIUS, access control lists, protected ports, DHCP snooping, denial-of-service prevention and broadcast storm control.

IGMP snooping and an IGMP snooping querier help manage multicast traffic efficiently, making the switch suitable for converged networks carrying data, voice and video.
