QNAP Announces Cost-efficient TS-x31P NAS Series Powered by ARM Cortex-A15 Dual-core Processor

QNAP® Systems, Inc. has released the TS-x31P NAS series, including the TS-131P, TS-231P, and TS-431P. Powered by an AnnapurnaLabs, an Amazon company Alpine AL-212 dual-core 1.7GHz processor, this series provides a high-performance and secure private cloud NAS solution tailored for home, SOHO and workgroup users. In addition to basic requirements such as file storage, sharing and backup, the TS-x31P series supports value-added cloud-based note-taking app, centralized email account management, contacts management, and abundant multimedia applications.

“A cost-efficient and reliable NAS solution is undoubtedly a key investment for small businesses and organizations to improve workflow efficiency; whereas home users generally like simple and practical storage devices with real-time data accessibility that helps create a modern digital home,” said Dan Lin, Product Manager of QNAP. “The TS-x31P is designed to fulfill such user needs to ensure data security and to bring a comprehensive business and multimedia experience,” added Lin.

Incorporating an energy-efficient ARM® Cortex®-A15 dual-core 1.7GHz processor, 1GB DDR3 RAM and supporting SATA 6Gb/s hard drives and SSDs, the TS-x31P provides high-speed transfer and excellent multitasking performance of up to 225 MB/s throughput. It also comes with a hardware encryption engine that provides transfer speeds of over 180 MB/s with AES 256-bit Full NAS Volume Encryption (model tested: TS-431P).

The multi-functional TS-x31P series provides a wealth of productivity-boosting applications: QmailAgent centrally manages multiple email accounts, making email search and management easy; Qcontactz allows for the centralization of contact information; Notes Station allows users to create digital notes on their private cloud and collaborate & share with friends and colleagues; Container Station integrates LXC and Docker® lightweight virtualization technologies to fulfill unlimited containerized applications; and Qsync strengthens cross-device file sync, allowing users to access up-to-date files stored on the NAS from different devices.

With DLNA®, AirPlay®, and Chromecast™ support, users can easily view photos and watch HD-quality videos stored on the TS-x31P throughout their home on compatible Smart TVs, game consoles and media players, making the TS-x31P a home multimedia hub and a multi-zone multimedia control system. Users can centrally manage and share photos, music, and videos using Photo Station, Music Station, and Video Station. Remotely accessing and managing files stored on the TS-x31P is also extremely easy with QNAP’s rich mobile apps (Qphoto, Qmusic, Qvideo, Qfile, and Qmanager).

The TS-x31P is a reliable all-in-one NAS for data storage, backup, sharing and centralized management. It supports flexible backup for Windows® and Mac®, Real-Time Remote Replication (RTRR) with version control, rsync and cloud backup (compatible with Amazon® Glacier, Azure™ Storage, Google Cloud Storage™, Google Drive™, Microsoft® OneDrive®, Dropbox®, Amazon® Drive, Yandex® Disk, Box®, and Amazon® S3/OpenStack Swift/WebDAV cloud storage services), and cross-platform file sharing for Windows®, Mac® , and Linux®/UNIX®.

Users can also install Surveillance Station on the TS-x31P to build a professional network video surveillance solution with 2 free IP camera channels (expandable up to 25 channels by purchasing additional licenses). The in-built App Center includes a variety of apps developed by QNAP and third-party developers to further extend NAS functionality.
