Partner Certification achieved at SnapperNet: Patton Technical Summit SnapperNet hosts Patton VoIP telephony solution training
Auckland, Thursday 30 July, 2009 – SnapperNet, the New Zealand owned networking and data communication solutions distributor, hosted a Technical Summit in Auckland recently which provided its partner resellers with technical training on Patton’s SmartNode VoIP telephony solution to enable them to become certified at partner level. SnapperNet teamed up with Patton, a manufacturer of voice and data-communications equipment for carrier, enterprise, and industrial networks, to host this one day course which covered network planning, installation, configuration and maintenance. “The summit provided the in-depth knowledge that our partners need to install and configure the complete line of SmartNode VoIP products for data, voice, and telephony applications” said Richard Paul, Director for SnapperNet Distributors. “The course covered both theory and implementation with detailed training on SIP, TCP/IP, NAT, ACL, QOS, network planning, configuration, and troubleshooting. Hands-on activities covered network analysis, VoIP application assessment, and VoIP troubleshooting with live end-to-end calls with real SmartNode devices.” The participates included Craig Spiers (Solarix), Campbell Steven (BTG), Jacques Vivier (Horizon Pacific), Stephan Maier (Technologix), John Cowan (Discovery Tech), Mike Lepper (IT Securities), David Mitchell (3BitVoice), Wayne Golding (Axis Direct), James Scott (Vistagate), Andy Egli (IT Net World), and Phillip Hitchcock (Sentinel Technologies). “We have always used SnapperNet as a sounding board when having to think out of the box to deliver an effective networking solution to one of our customers,” said Phillip Hitchcock, Director for Sentinel Technologies Ltd. “This summit was the ideal opportunity to receive hands on and practical training and deepened our understanding of what Patton’s technology capabilities are; which in turn means we can improve our solution servicing to customers.”
David Puckett, Patton’s Technical Support Director, and Bao Vo, Patton’s Regional Director for the Asia Pacific, attended the summit and were impressed with the course participants. “Their level of engagement during the SmartNode VoIP technical training was outstanding” said Vo, “and as newly registered Partners it will enable them to further meet the needs of the New Zealand enterprise and carrier sectors. We learned much from this event, regarding the state of the New Zealand market from a VoIP deployment perspective and thank SnapperNet for organising the Summit.”
SnapperNet has a strong emphasis on service and technical support. “We work closely with our suppliers and channel partners to offer competitive pricing strategies along with solid product marketing support” said Paul. “The Patton VoIP Technical Summit is another example of SnapperNet walking the talk in this regard. The summit brought together in the one room one of our suppliers and our channel partners and has been a win win for us all with respect to knowledge sharing and closer working relationships.”
