 LevelOne Switches help smash old record by a 5-hour margin Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - On April 10th, 2009 the 291 participants of CyberFusion 2009 began their attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records for longest non-stop LAN party. At the end of the 40-hour event 17 gamers had dropped out of the event due to fatigue. However, there were still 274 gamers left to claim their name in the history books, breaking the previous record by a whopping 5 hours. The previous record of 36 hours was set by 203 gaming enthusiasts in California in 2008. The organizers supplied more than 1,500 cans of energy drink to keep participants awake during the 2-day event, organized by Cyberview and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). Read the full story here. |
