In addition to monitoring its own internal temperature, the Dominion PX IP PDU can monitor the environment where environmental sensors are placed. The DPX-T1 Environmental Temperature Sensor connects to the 'Feature port' of the Dominion PX. Once the sensor has been physically connected to the Dominion PX you can view environmental temperatures from within the Domnion PX configuration web page and configure thresholds for these sensors which allows the Dominion PX to generate an alert whenever environmental factors at those sensors move outside of your ideal values.
